my work name is Victoria-but-call-me-Tory, my name IRL with the people I see every day is Syl because I picked Sylvia Viridian as an internet name when I was 12

I mean to change my legal name eventually to Malachite, Kite for short

I keep meaning to think of a less gendered name for use online but so far nothing has stuck

my family still calls me Tory, too. they gave me that nickname as soon as I was born, so I grew up under it - it took me forever to realize that my discomfort with being 'Victoria' or worse 'Vicky' was a gender thing

Victoria is a very pretty name that does not suit me personally at all
