this is the third time this company has put up this job opening despite never getting back to me about my applications and i'm so tempted to rewrite the cover letter to be like "i saw on linkedin that you're still looking for an entry level climate change consultant =) =) =) "

"perhaps this time you might like to consider the person with a masters degree in exactly the shit you want a person to do? just a thought"

Do. It.

Idea: leverage the fact that you've been interested for a while and sidestep your sales pitch in favor of a conversation with whoever you can get on the phone about how long this search has taken them and what it is they're not finding in the candidates who apply.

Maybe there's something specific they want that you can offer to go get/train in in your first quarter with the company

With 0 snark, I saw definitely re-apply. We had a situation where we interviewed for a role, picked a top applicant, everything was set (I literally had her computer set up and her onboarding in my calendar for that Monday) then there was an issue with her green card and she couldn't come to the country. So we had to re-post the position.

And also agree with Wolfi's comment, nothing wrong wth asking how you could train to better fit a role, it's a perfectly valid question.

y'all have made the critical mistake of assuming this company has any useful contact info whatsoever

the first time i applied, my cover letter vanished off my application and so i tried to contact them to be like "um. what do?" and there were jack shit options other than filling out the general "contact us" form
