my high elf rogue is now totally immune to being magically charmed except by demons
and would have disadvantage on saving throws against getting charmed by fiends, but fortunately Fey Ancestry mitigates the curse part, so that's...okay
Our weird mysterious NPC ranger with ties to the Feywild is keeping secrets and Rinthil has chosen not to out her to the party, which he's really uncomfortable with but also he doesn't want to believe her secrets are going to hurt our friends
he likes her, and he wants to trust her, so he's keeping quiet about what he knows for now
and we have no idea why basically-Satan is trying to kill or steal the souls of high priests or what that has to do with the price of mead in Viking Dragonborn Land, but somehow these things are all connected and we need to put the pieces together fast
the party's getting along well and starting to come together as a group, so that's good
NPC Ranger acting sus!!!!
he's keeping an eye on her!
it's just that like, she's the equivalent of sixteen and out on her own for the first time and he has perhaps too much sympathy for her
there is definitely a sense here of like...between the two of them he's the one who's actually an adult and ought to take responsibility
he'd have pressed her harder for answers if it didn't feel kind of like bullying a high schooler
I'm really enjoying this campaign
someone's trying to create conflict among the mortal nations and also the gods, as far as we can discern
was this the campaign that you were doing last time you were on plurk too? if so that's a really long campaign lol
that's a super neat premise though! like, among the gods, or between mortals and the gods
No, that one wrapped up! this is the one that followed it. Same DM, different group
except Saffy's still here
...well, I was in two campaigns back then, and I'm in two campaigns now. this is the weekday campaign. the weekend campaign also wrapped up and started a new adventure, with the same entire group because we're local and play in person when pandemic allows
weekday campaign I'm playing a high elf rogue, archetype inquisitive, with a noble background. he's kind of smug about being the smartest person in the room, but he's nice and idealistic, which is what almost got him assassinated at court back home.
weekend campaign I'm playing a wood elf druid, circle of the stars, with a sage background. the setting is magitech at around FMA level, and he's a college-educated doctor who's learning about local practices and natural remedies.
both that you got to finish campaigns and start new ones with the same group (ish), and the premise is super neat
yeah being nice as a noble is a recipe for trouble
assassiniation or just getting manipulated
I would never have thought of a D&D setting with FMA level tech, that's a super cool idea too
fortunately he might just be smart enough to get away with it
i don't think i know what an inquisitive is though, i only ever like read the main book
or circle of the stars, but i like the sound of it
yeah! both games are in homebrew settings. the magitech campaign is deliberately, extremely JRPG/anime-influenced
Inquisitive rogue is a bit situational, but in a heavily social campaign it's real fun. you're basically RDJ Sherlock - the central mechanic is that you can insight check people and then sneak-attack them from the front if you succeed against their deception roll
additional abilities include investigation rolls as a bonus action and a minimum floor on insight checks to tell whether someone's lying
both the class and the setting, i approve of anime/jrpg in your D&D
tee hee my bard is a cute anime catgirl nya
circle of the stars druid is basically FFXIV astrologian combined with WoW's moonkin druid - you can use your wildshapes to look like different constellations with different effects, and you get to cast Guiding Bolt a certain number of times per day without spell slots
well that's neat! i hope you have lots of fun D&D tales in your new campaigns
i need to prod my fiance into running something for me again
once pandemic settles down a little
i had fun with my orc pirate lady
I remember the orc pirate lady, I hope you get to play her again
i've found that Revised Ranger, Fey Wanderer UA Conclave + Circle of Stars Druid is a killer combo
