I'm so happy. There are most definitely changes, but this feels very very much like Peter Jackson's adaptation of LoTR

Like...you may or may not agree with specific details or changes that are made (like I'm a bit sad none of the previews have shown the Aes Sedai's shawls), but it's very clear that the writers and production team all truly respect and love the source material

They're making choices to do some of the world and character building through visuals and camera angles and non verbals, which is utterly essential in a series that is 90% exposition and world buildling. lmao.

Jordan was much more interested in character than Tolkien was, but they both basically wrote textbooks as their ode to the world they created

It makes for super dense reading, but really rich worlds, and it's so nice to see that reflected in these first 3 episodes.

And Mat and Nynaeve. Always my favorites. I haven't done fandom RP in YEARS, but I'm off of teaching until mid January and I'm so, so, so tempted to revive my old Mat account
