[O’ Fortuna] If I name all my side characters after mythological creatures, would it then be weird that my main is called Nathaniel?
Nathan’s best friend is a cocktail waitress called Medusa and my brain’s just like ‘what if naming theme...?’

It does jar a little. Could go for the nickname route, like Hades does with 'Dusa.
or just find modern names that have meanings associated with what you want, I'm sure there's plenty out there
I’m keeping Medusa for sure. Whether it’s her given name or not isn’t gonna come up at all.
I’ll stick with more human sounding names rather than going with a theme tho
