I really really do not like the idea of “animal instinct“ as in, equating it to a baser way of being. That's on the book though, I understand it as cutting off parts of self to survive the unsurvivable, as a wisdom lend to us through years and years of evolution, definitely not something to be sneered upon. But that's just my two cents. (me out!)
