It’d irk you if you despise a lot of ‘he said’s, but to me every single one felt like a statement in its own right. Like they weren’t meant to be glossed over like white noise
I could feel the main character in a way I don’t very often. Like all the books I’ve read before are third person games, but this was a first person shooter in VR
And the evil was appropriately vicious, all that was wrong in the world, a man who took and took and took and took until most would have buckled, but their pack grew stronger out of spite
And the love was hard won. It had to be fought for, and they made each other angry, and felt rage and hate and despair, and even at the end of it all those wounds had scarred, though they became stronger through it.
