There are three more in the series but it won’t be quite the same, different POV’s, so I’m just kinda like. What do I do

I love this book to pieces but I literally cannot form the words to tell you why

It’s Wolfsong by TJ Klune and it made me feel a way that no book has done before

Which is saying a LOT

Ooh, that was Kite Runner for me. Full on sucker punch

kikibug13: it was so good. And very long, audiobook-wise, compared to what I usually listen to. Hit a lot of my favourite notes. About werewolves and the power of a pack

And a human that didn’t believe he’d ever find a place where he’d fit until he was invited into a family that he grew to protect and build

The reader gave a tone to it that I don’t know if I would have been able to add if I’d just read it myself

It’d irk you if you despise a lot of ‘he said’s, but to me every single one felt like a statement in its own right. Like they weren’t meant to be glossed over like white noise

I could feel the main character in a way I don’t very often. Like all the books I’ve read before are third person games, but this was a first person shooter in VR

And he was not your typical “hero”

He’s a bit slow, and isn’t good at words a lot of the time, and he just feels so so SO much

There’s a lot of repetition that would annoy me in other writing styles but in this one it feels like they were born to be there

Like the book wouldn’t be right without them

And the evil was appropriately vicious, all that was wrong in the world, a man who took and took and took and took until most would have buckled, but their pack grew stronger out of spite

And the love was hard won. It had to be fought for, and they made each other angry, and felt rage and hate and despair, and even at the end of it all those wounds had scarred, though they became stronger through it.

I felt the story as if I were there, felt the joy and rage and grief and love and triumph
