The lambs were weirdly skittish and kept running away from me whenever I tried to feed them. The goats, kids included, had absolutely no qualms about coming right up to people if there was food in it for them.
The place gave us a grain and pellet mixture inside ice cream cones, which they noted were also okay for the animals to eat. I had one snatched away from me by an emu while I had my head turned.
Also, the award for most terrifying animals they had there, by a mile, went to... the turkeys. Things were huge, and had a habit of suddenly and loudly flapping at each other out of nowhere. I suspect some form of dominance display.
Also very helpful in the event of small children who want to shove their entire portion of feed, container and all, in the direction of one lucky animal. Which she did, several times. We ended up buying like 10 extra cones of the stuff.
Their enclosure was next to one for geese, so I was paying attention to what kiddo was doing with those and holding the cone to my side... apparently just a little too close to the emu.
And yes, I still stand by what I said about they turkeys even though there were emus.
