So, it's Kentucky Derby Day today. Is anyone here going to a watch party, drinking mint juleps, making anything special for food or placing any online bets on the outcome?
I have a mint plant on my patio so there will be mint julep.
I am not doing any of those things, but I will watch.
I always watch with some sort of drink in my hand. I tried to make a mint julep once and...just no. I always root for the horse with the best name.

Horse racing isn't on my radar, but Sharon Scofield usually pays attention, and it generally filters into Diner trivia one way or another.
I didn't have the energy to do anything for the Derby (and anyway alcohol is currently a no for me due to the meds I am on). The Preakness, however, is fast approaching and will be run on May 15th. The official drink of the Preakness is the Black Eyed Susan, which is somethink I didn't know until just now.
I hope to try out a mocktail version of it on the 15th.
