phew i feel like it's been a while since i've done one of these

i think i've explained sora's thought process up and down, so i'm going to pivot over to some other characters i'm playing in psls right now

if anyone was wondering, ephrim's worst trait is that he's a fake hoe and a bootlicker bc he craves validation LOL

kagura: i personally think she's perfect, but i think generally she's so hard on herself that it manifests in her, like... giving up on herself in the same way gintoki does? not that i think she does it on purpose, but she does parrot him in a lot of ways bc he is her surrogate dad and he is not perfect at it

she blows it off with gintoki's bluster, but i think she knows that she tries too hard to be good and she also knows she overcompensates for it... so she's just like. oh well. scratches her ass and stuffs rice in her face LOL

she's so young and she's already been through a lot and i just want her to not think that she's a monster... oh that's definitely the other thing she 100% thinks she's a monster and that she's going to spend the rest of her life doomed to hurt people and she compensates by hurting people. because. I MEAN IF SHE'S GOING TO DO IT ANYWAY

i guess the important note is that she doesn't want to hurt anyone she cares about... most people can die, but if she really actually hurts gin or shin or otose or smbd she loves she'll just wither she can't deal with it

gintoki: i have never seen a man more emotionally constipated in my life. LOL which isn't a bad thing, but he wraps himself in so many layers to prevent himself from caring about other people it naturally makes him a total asshole on top of being emotionally constipated

it's a really good thing that his moral center is slap bang on or else he'd end up like takasugi probably

he's also, uuuuh a tiny bit bigoted, but i like to think he means well. i GUESS

his best trait is that he'll care about anyone despite himself but phew, he's a piece of work

his second best trait is that he's a very good looking person

aina: she isn't confident in subtle ways. like, she's very capable and she won't put it in your face but she also knows it... but also, like, interpersonally, she's the type to be quiet and friendly but never really puts herself out there because she can't figure out how to get outside her head

she's shy AND introverted AND lacking self-esteem, but only with regard to her self-image - when it comes to kicking ass and, uh, time traveling i guess, she knows she's perfectly capable and she rocks it

but put her in front of a pretty girl who thinks she's pretty and she's just like. m e? wh at the FUKC

asbestos: her entire raison d'etre is being the worst person she possibly can be LOL

i love her to bits but she's given up on long term life planning in possibly the worst way possible and i want to just, like, shake her.... please love yourself

mei shin: nothing. mei shin rules. she's 12 and she's the coolest kid.

(her anxiety is NOT a flaw, she is literally 12, please let her go see a psychiatrist so she can learn to control her panic attacks)

i mean... growing up w her shithole dad means she does have a tendency to blame everything on herself and she does put her dad on a pedestal despite him being kind to her exactly one (1) time... which i guess isn't healthy. but. it's also, not, really, her fault,

midnight: he's learned so much about human nature that he thinks that he's dealing with his past in a Healthy and Mature way but he's just compartmentalizing really well which isn't?? actually good???

like holy shit if he trusts you and you ask one particular question you're getting his life story and the sort of way he goes "haha i'm over it" after spilling his guts for like an hour like no dude that's not how this works

he's got such a strong filter that he doesn't actually talk to anyone about himself despite talking about himself 100% of the time and something has to give or else he's going to give all of his emotional energy trying to take care of others and one thing will go wrong and he'll just crumple

i'm not saying that he should tell everyone HEY I'M ACTUALLY TRAUMATIZED AND HAVE SEVERE TRUST ISSUES to everyone he meets, but like, my guy, every once in a while like, check in and make sure you're not overcompensating for still being alive, my god
