that moment when you're just casually browsing games on DW and every single ad you see is "CASUAL PSYCHO-ANALYTIC HORROR!!!!" and..........any inspiration you have is pretty soft and not a good fit ramble plurk, initiate.
>:C I'm trying to get a little bit of perspective for the game that I'm working on. What do your FAQs look like?? Your navigation pages? Players with critiques? How big is a mod team, comfortably? W hat would draw people into a game? ETCETCETC U NO
but I.....IDK MAN I FEEL LIKE THERE ARE SLIGHT HORROR ASPECTS TO MOST GAMES BUT I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A GAME WHERE IT'S LIKE "U DIE AND THEN YOU!!! LOSE YOUR MEMORY!!! AND YOUR FAMILY!!!! AND UR FRIENDS!!!! AND EVERYTHING IS BAD TIME FOR A PITY PARTY"
>:C not that there's anything wrong with putting your character through the ropes, but I would want death to be treated as something more permanent, to an extent. Like, a character gets dropped and then comes back with a new player with no memories. and everyone is like "YOU'RE BACK!!! /THROWS CONFETTI!!"
there would be chances for a character to die but....implying that a game is a psychological horror game insinuates that death can or is a normal circumstance. or shorter life. u no.
I think it depends on what type of game you want to promote. Is it a slice of life jam jar, is it an exploration/survival game that’s not so much horror but like LA was in terms of item management and a “don’t starve” sort of feel, will there be metaplot etc
