This year I did FreeTaxUSA and it was actually free and easier. Not to sound like an ad, but wow. Really drove home how shitty Intuit is.

And of course all the lobbying to keep taxes complicated and expensive they do.

that's awesome! I used H&R for 2 (2) years & have regretted it ever since because they're was major incompetence & drama on the 2nd one. Now it's accountant time because our return is super arcane & I can't procrastinate anymore

i may have to try freetaxusa this year then, bc turbotax is what i've been using and i've noticed every year it gets harder and harder to use the free option and once it decides you're not using free all on its own, there's no way to go back lmao

Yyyyyyup I actually never figured out how to get the free version

But freetaxusa can still import your data from the IRS so you don't have to start from scratch just because you're switching software. Er. Web apps. Whatever.

Anyway A+, would recommend
