[Vision] So, I'm thinking about trying contacts, but I know absolutely nothing about them.

Where to get them, general care, how to insert or remove them.
Any info you guys could provide would be great

so obvz first talk to your eye doc! it's always the best place to start. and they can teach you in the office how to put them in.
I always order from 1-800-Contacts, they're cheaper than going through the doc, esp if you don't have insurance. I, personally, also buy a box or two of dailies and wear them for about a week or two at a time, which extends the time they last, and make it cheaper... but I can def understand if you don't wanna do that, aren't comfortable with the idea, etc.
loyalwolf: I don't have an eye doctor =/ Vision isn't covered by my insurance, so I've always just gotten a free eye exam at a place like Lens Crafters and then ordered glasses online
oooh okay, well you could still probably ask them for suggestions on brands and stuff? idk, that part is a lot of a trial and error thing, they usually will give you Bauch&Lomb or Acuvue Oasis to start, tho, generally
putting them in is generally easier than taking them out, especially at first. and... idk... how are you with the whole "I have to touch my eye" idea that goes with contacts b/c it can be an adjustment. (I've been wearing them since I was 14, so like... /jazz hands)
Fortunately, I don't have any issue with the "touching my eye" thing. Though I am afraid of doing it wrong and hurting myself.
okay well since you don't have that issue, it should be fine? You just have to be careful. Putting them in, like... honestly, you just have to balance it on your finger and once you line it up a bit, it'll mostly do the work and kind of, uhhh, for the lack of a better word, suction to your eye anyway.
usually you won't really feel it? but if you do, it might kind of feel weird, or like you have something in your eye, and that's probably because it got off-center or something, and blinking a bit usually fixes that (if not, take it out, try again, my eyes are weird and i have had to do that a lot lmao)

taking them out... mmm. well, you can either liiiightly pinch it near the middle (mine, probably because I wear them so long, honestly, hardly ever come off this way anymore) orrrr if you have nails you can usually lift it veeery carefully at the edge with your thumbnail. It's.... kind of a figuring out what way works for you thing.
Contacts are weird and kind of scary at first, but once you get used to it, it's honestly not a big thing at all. and they're hella convenient for a lot of reasons. AND the great thing is you can wear them when you want and totally don't have to at all when you don't wanna.
I def have to remind myself to like... let my eyes breathe and wear my glasses for a few days sometimes (b/c I prefer my contacts, and I forget)
I definitely want to give it a try. I've been wearing glasses for six years now, and I'm a little tired of the inconveniences of them.
Legit, tbh. They can be such a hassle

do you have a costco membership?
I do not, but I'm in the process of getting vision coverage. it's $16 a month to add it onto my coverage.
