Feeling very defeatist this afternoon and evening. I lose track of dates, and times (numbers in general), unless they're written down multiple places. Today I got a reminder an hour before a meeting for my youngest... while at a track meet for my eldest 40 mins away.

Getting old, overwhelmed, or a combination of the two?

(cozy) Do you use iCal on your iPad or Google Calendar?

Did someone text you a reminder or was it from your digital calendar?

I had to drive her back, 2 minutes away from home, stranding my husband at the meet until I could come back after it. In the grand scheme of things, it wasn't "that bad", track meets are obnoxiously long so he was fine. It just hurt my pride because I have been trying so hard to prevent crap like this from happening.

I normally have two alerts for calendar events so if I forget I get a reminder ahead of time.

Things like that happen. Don't let it get you down, just figure out a way that will prevent it from happening again.

I’ve learned to set reminders on mine…not just a couple, but depending on how far in advance, I might send myself a whole week’s worth. Just a popup each morning. But almost always at least 4, starting 2 days before hand, and then one the morning of, one a couple hours before, and one to tell me it’s time to leave.

I know that the rescheduling of the meets after losing a venue is part of it, and the weird communication regarding meets (I get texts but not emails, husband gets emails but not texts, and they're not repeated information). I am probably being too hard on myself

((((Hugs)))) That sounds rather crazy and like it would be very easy to get things convoluted.

Swamp_Daddy: I was the Alexa reminder that I set for my husband for when I work on Sundays (every other one). So at least I kind of sort of had it together

Thanks everyone. I am trying to get all the ducks in a row this morning and set down some more reminders and other structure.

If anything, I am getting better than I was. Looking back at my youth, there's a high chance that I have a level of inattentive adhd that was easier to deal with when I didn't have so much to take care of- and while I have developed some systems, I resist a lot of others because I am creative AND grew up with a perfectionist parent and start beating myself u

(cozy) Maybe that’s part of why we get along so well. :-)
