I feel like December is going to either be "I'm too tired to RP and thus I'm very slow" or "I want distractions so I'm relatively fast for me because I don't have a fast setting."
But yes, I've been very fortunate to have some really good meme threads with Leslie and right now I've got a bunch of good active ones, but I feel like Leslie might do well for having a game behind her, since she's a bit reserved and that can sometimes make finding subjects for threads that will mean I don't have to completely rely on the other person
to keep the thread moving forward.
So I took a while quietly looking around at what games friends were in...and discovered that like half of them are 15+ character age minimum, including Ǣfenglōm.
But Ǣfenglōm noted that they would consider exceptions, so I messaged the mods at the end of November (forgetting that Thanksgiving makes lots of Americans busy), so Leslie will be allowed assuming I'm still in a place to app then.
And it feels like a good setting for her, on top of knowing several of the players. Magic, living shadows, and contemplating what makes a monster a monster are all things that her canon is down for.
Leslie is going to be allowed to bring along the sentient shadow (collective of shadows? it's a little vague) that lives under her bed in canon, and she will in future be able to make them a familiar. Which is going to be fun given all of the evil shadow creatures around.
yosie out here spelling the game name all formal and proper
Apparently she's going to get checked for Cwyld infection on the regular.
I'm sure I'll eventually run out of patience for copy-pasting it.
I'm not actually quite sure how to make either of the symbols.
a real game
A real game! It's been a long time.
I was last in Futurology for a few months with Nico before I couldn't keep up because I'd just finished my 5 year stint in Luceti earlier in the year and I was a bit burnt out, but I don't think I'll have the same issue. At the very least, the number of meme threads I have with Leslie lets me gauge over the next month if I'm keeping up.
Leslie will almost certainly be a witch. (She's often compared to a rabbit in her canon, but she's not much like anything else about a Púca. Technically, I suppose I could go with a turnskin, but Leslie is a magical prodigy in her canon. Too bad that's all disappearing.)
I have no idea what she'll eventually study. I was going to go with something that seemed equivalent to her canon powers, but none of the schools really fit. I'm thinking Evocation and Illusion might be the closest, though I definitely have my eye on Divination (I just like it myself) and Alchemy (since she's an academic whiz).
Evocation or something with offensive use will probably be in there, just because I like having the knowledge that this small child is actually capable of doing real damage, even if she's never actually done so to anything other than a few blocks of wood for training.
But yes, I am excited! ...Hopefully will continue to be for a month and a half!!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention: the stint in Futurology was the end of 2015. Before that was Luceti. That...is the extent of my non-meme dreamwidth existence as a RPer. Golly.
A tiny 12 year old child is the closest to a competent character I have ever apped to...actually to any fandom game outside of a dressing room. My favourite thing to do is app characters who really shouldn't be there, I guess.
....Gosh, I think this may be the first time???
I'm glad! I started being interested just because I knew there were a bunch of friends in there, but it's been looking like such a good fit for Leslie the more I actually look into the game.
Thank you! I'm hoping to do so.
So I asked what kind of child-related laws there are in Aef (such as child labour laws) and the answer I got back was basically "if she goes to the wrong part of town, she might get taken to an Oliver Twist orphanage owned by factory workers.
" She could count the number of times she's been outside on both hands and has walked a street once.
She has no idea what a bad part of town is. I hope she learns fast.
