Stuck in an Elevator meme where if this was one of the FE3H AUs would be super terrifying, but normal Leslie is fine as long as the elevator doesn't catch fire.
In which case I think everyone would be unhappy.
There have been a few other gen memes lately, but I was clearing out the inbox now that I only have Leslie, and also six word stories is possibly impossible for me as everything I write ends up far too long.
Thanks, I'll take good care of him and not try to pick a fight with him.
all you have to do is not be banri
Leslie succeeds step one
She's very good at not being Banri.
she knows how to handle those feelings, Leslie!! you put them in a suitcase and ignore them unless the other person displays interest,
I want to take a look at these and also Mira's links when I am less of a blob after work (which might be Thursday, but I am STATING MY INTENT PUBLICLY!)
Perhaps it's a good thing that Ritsuka is not giving Leslie the Talk, because she absolutely would follow that advice.
Also take what time you need to not be dead! The statement of intent is enough to make me EXCITE.
aureatian: Any preference re: modern AU Leslie vs. this is just memeland don't think too hard about it?
Let's go with a modern AU!
tags yosie so she'll inevitably come up with an a3! au leslie too
...I am not confident in my ability to conjugate "ride" so I had to look it up.
I was correct in "has ridden" but it feels weird.
LMAO I guess I'm going to have to sit down for a Mira and Sarah lecture on the ins and outs of A3.
Try not to be too sensual.
It'll be the first time I'll have to think about how to translate her backstory without the supernatural elements...I think. A3 has some weird things in it.
the sperado and salvatore mob families, perhaps.
Sure! While Leslie’s mostly only directly interacted with her personal maid out of the staff, things have gotten far more relaxed at the Salvatore mansion since Leslie arrived and a lot of the servants adore her.
So I could definitely see Leslie spending time with one of them, particularly if it’s set at a time when the Salvatores are fairly busy with the upcoming noble trial.
Yeah! That could easily be the case.
I dunno if you’ve read the comic yet, but if you haven’t, what you’d need to know is that before Leslie arrived, the Salvatores, while fair employers, hated to be disturbed and expected servants outside of the head butler to do their jobs quietly, and the servants were generally pretty nervous around them since the Salvatores are big and intimidating.
Since Leslie is often cheerful in the mansion and openly expresses wonder at how good the food/the furniture/the clothes/etc. are, and the Salvatores are all very clearly warm and soft with Leslie, the general atmosphere has lightened considerably since then.
...I mean one servant disappeared recently (the Salvatores discovered a spy among the servants that they brought to a dungeon beneath the manor to interrogate and he turned out to have some magic on him that killed him when he tried to betray his employer), but they’ve been very quiet about it. I mention it since I know Ginia to be a very observant sort.
But also there’s, like. Leslie tried to make a gingerbread snowman float in her hot chocolate when she was out with her brother and personal maid to make it look like it was on a boat, but when she went to show her brother it broke apart in the hot chocolate and she ended up crying in surprise and feeling sad for the snowman, so the servants gathered
in the kitchen to run a bunch of tests to make a gingerbread cookie that tasted good and would stay together for long enough so Leslie could do it successfully at a later meal.
So mostly everything has gotten much more lighthearted.
As usual, when I see an opening to talk about a series I like, I go hard.
That sounds great! Even before Leslie arrived to make the Salvatores look less terrifying as the huge, strong, rumoured-to-be-half-demon family of four that they are, the servants all seem to get along very well when they weren’t directly in sight of one of the Salvatores. Also the head butler is a middle-aged woman in a suit, which is great.
And shortly after Leslie stood outside the gate until she was brought in to talk privately with the duchess (even the head butler left the room), the entire mansion went dark for a few seconds without explanation, and not long after that, Leslie was given dinner with the duchess and her oldest son. The chef sank to his knees because after 20 years of working
at the mansion Leslie was the first one to compliment the food and even said it must be what food tastes like in heaven.
And LMAO YEAH SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT.
Leslie’s personal maid mentioned talking to the duchess about the ways Leslie seems a bit strange (doesn’t know about hot chocolate or pinky promises but does occasionally use difficult, adult words) to her roommate and the roommate immediately was like ARE YOU CRAZY NO ONE TALKS TO THE SALVATORES THEY HATE BEING DISTURBED.
It’d be something Ginia and Leslie would have in common, because when the oldest Salvatore son introduced himself very formally while looming over Leslie, they were surprised she didn’t cry out of fear but just responded normally.
“They don’t look so scary.” “You get it!” hands clasp (not really but the idea of it)
“has definitely killed someone and been through shit” is the sort of thing the Salvatores probably appreciate when she first arrived, because a few years back the youngest son is probably at least almost 20 (their ages are never specified, but I tend to assume the academy that the youngest just finished is basically college), so they would not be at all
concerned about defending themselves because the Salvatores have literal supernatural powers regarding being silly strong at fighting, aside from the like probably nearing 7 foot tall mercenary who married the duchess who is just naturally strong, and by the time Leslie arrived, Ginia is probably trusted enough to not be kept away from the much more delicate
Leslie. The head butler doubtless did a background check anyway.
Every time I mention that Leslie is a child prodigy (which she is), I feel really weird, because it feels like such a standard fictional child thing to say.
Angst meme for anyone wanting to focus on non-fluffy gen.
...I realize that Leslie threads can become “every second sentence is about more trauma from her abusive childhood” regardless of how happy the meme is.
cordially: The choice of including 14 on the angst meme for a mutual angst fear almost made me laugh because literally the last scene in the most recent update of Leslie’s canon is “Leslie is hiding that she is having nightmares out of fear of what will happen if the duchess loses the court case for adopting Leslie away from the marquess.”
So, like, Leslie’s side of the angst fest is going to be easy for me to choose when I’m more awake than “got up at 5 AM to use the washroom.”
Random scenario, which is almost like a call me out post, which I plan to do eventually. Now, back to the darkness of sleep.
Yeaaahhhh, I felt really bad that her train of thought went “I had that dream again” to “it’s okay, it’s okay” to immediately “I have to get to sleep again because it will worry people if it looks like I haven’t gotten enough sleep.”
Child please seek comfort.
NO BAD GINIA but Leslie will probably be alert enough after she has been given the comfort to go "...why were you up?" and dig at Ginia's own problems for the sake of providing hugs and comfort in return.
LMAO a difficult one to bring out huh
Though, granted, Leslie has similar instincts, but she's also a child.
Ah, yes, unfortunately for Ginia, that makes sense. Hopefully Leslie will be able to provide some accidental comfort/whatever comfort she can give based on what she'll be able to read from Ginia.
Leslie can certainly manage that one.
Instead of doing the rest of my tags (as good as they are), I ended up messing around with a hypothetical Caster Leslie Servant build using all known skills.
nekokoban
Passive Skills:
Territory Creation B (Arts Card effectiveness 8%)
Item Creation C (Debuff Success Rate +6%)
Personal Skills:
Proof of Friendship A+ [High chance to inflict Stun, High chance to decrease Charge by 1]
Inherent Wisdom D [80% chance to increase DEF (3 turns), Apply Guts (1 time, 3 turns)]
Suspicious Shadow B [Decrease Debuff Resist of all enemies (1 turn), Decrease DEF (3 turns)]
Noble Phantasm:
Lights Out! (Plunge All Into Shadow)
Rank B+
Apply Evade (1 time, 1 turn)
Decrease Attack for all enemies (3 turns)
(I meant Apply Evade to all allies (1 time, 1 turn))
I figured that Caster Leslie would be a support Caster, and I decided not to do too big of things from the skills since her NP would be an evade that isn't tied to cooldowns, and I'd be thinking of her as a 4-star strength, so I couldn't let the rest get out of control.
Proof of Friendship (from Hektor) is described as a skill to suppress a Servant's fighting spirit to allow for dialogue to begin, unless the enemy has Mental Corruption. It seemed like the most reasonable way to demonstrate her protag tendencies towards being so cute that people want to protect her, and also I was looking for a stun.
Because the most common thing Leslie has done with her magic has been binding people.
Inherent Wisdom (from da Vinci and Tesla) was because I wanted to give her guts because she survives through a lot of stuff, and while I could have just gone with Battle Continuation, I thought that since she's considered to be a bit of a prodigy, I just ranked down the geniuses' skill from their A/EX levels since she is unlikely to go da Vinci level genius.
I was originally going to decrease the probability of defence up down to like 60-70%, but it also comes with an NP damage up, which would be useless on her (and an attack up for Tesla), so I kept the defence up where it was and just dropped the extras.
Suspicious Shadow comes from Fuma Kotarou. Apparently the skill is originally called Paranoia in Japanese, but come on. She's got magic based around an ambiguously sentient shadow. How could I not grab it when she already has several debuffs?
Suspicious Shadow C, which Kotarou has right now, only does the Debuff Resist Down, but there's also a Suspicious Shadow C++ that gives also a defence down and a nullify buff. Since I don't want to overpower her, I decided B could be that, but without the nullify buff (since it's got two +s).
Her NP came from how the biggest thing she's done in canon to demonstrate her strength of magic is that she put an entire mansion in darkness in the blink of an eye and brought it back to normal just as quickly, so I was thinking it would be useful as something to blind the foes.
Since I don't think that status effect exists in FGO, I decided I could recreate it with Evade, since it would make sense that someone with Sure Hit wouldn't be affected by darkness.
But, like. If I made this a one turn evade or a one hit evade, imagine what she would do to an arts stall team as a Caster.
So I decided that the best way to give it some drawback was to make it so that it was a 1 hit evade that also didn't last past one turn, so that you can use it to absorb one AOE NP, but if something else hits you first, that protection is gone.
Which makes her a little more niche. I added in the attack down due to her skills revolving a lot around debuffs and because the 1 hit 1 turn thing seemed like it was a little TOO cautious about not overdoing it.
The territory creation and item construction are basically some of the lowest ones that I found on a list for Casters, because Leslie is a child who doesn't have the experience in making things, but I also don't think that she would be below the standard.
It would have been nice to have an excuse to raise up Item Creation since she's got a bunch of debuffs, but all I have to do is fiddle with her skill percentages.
...So yeah that was fun. I'll probably also figure out Avenger Leslie, who would be a more attack-based Servant. Probably another crit-based Avenger, because look, Weak Constitution would absolutely be a skill I could put on a 12 year old Leslie who has been starved, even if it is a gather and not a damage boost.
But, again, I'd be aiming for a 4-star level.
Anyway. I should eat and stuff.
I actually really enjoy doing stats for crossover Servants too (>'-'<)
... I should throw Richard at her. He is good at being a Big Brother
1) It’s so much fun to stat out. I forgot the Strength, Endurance, etc., but I’m sure I’ll do those eventually.
2) I welcome a big bro! Even if I should finish up my work before I get back to my tags, haha.
cordially: I wrote a 1000 word tag and then I realized that oops, I misread your tag and thought she was doing this after everyone was supposed to be asleep, but no, it's just during regular work hours. I have zero idea how I misread that. Probably because I need to eat, which I am going to do now while I rework the tag, haha.
She can angst in the daytime, too.
It would have to be pretty late, as I wrote it as if Leslie got up in the middle of the night after a nightmare to go get a glass of water. It's fine, I know how I can rework it, and writing it was its own reward.
I'll leave it up to you, then!
Choice A: Leslie wakes up from a nightmare with a bad taste in her mouth and finds Ginia up washing windows in the dead of night on her way to get a glass of water.
Choice B: Leslie is brooding over the stuff that has her having those nightmares and finds Ginia clearly out of it.
In a practical sense, it has the same result of Leslie coming up to ask Ginia about why she's in this state, while also having clear signs that Leslie isn't okay, either.
All right! Thanks for the flexibility.
cordially: So when it comes to Leslie asking Ginia questions, you can make up just about whatever about travelling in the Rucardius Empire if you want. Setting aside some info on the politics and the existence of a temple, I think the only thing we know about the empire is that it's aggressively expansionistic, so it probably has a lot of climates.
But also we can skip it if you don't want to answer Leslie's questions about What Is Travel Like.
Cool! They're very vague on setting details, haha, so all I know is that the capital is in a climate that has snow sometimes, but not all the time (at the beginning of the comic, there's no snow, and then there's days with snow and without snow for a bit in the middle, and at the current time it seems to have a small layer of snow all the time.
And the only mention I can remember of a place outside of the Empire is that things are getting hard for people living outside of the empire and the duchess participated in a fight against a resistance group called Etai when she was much younger, where she received orders to burn down a village of people in the group, including the elderly and children.
I don't think there has been anything about what the rest of the empire looks like, other than it's been around for over a thousand years.
Vindication from the most recent chapter of Leslie’s comic! I’ve had Leslie insist to people before that she isn’t a child, but up until this comic, she’d never actually said it out loud. She’d inwardly chided herself for doing things she thinks are immature because she isn’t a child anymore, but she’d never said it out loud before chapter 33.
But in this chapter, as her theology tutor tells her that it’s okay for her to express strong emotions, especially since she’s still young, she says, “I’m not young! I’m twelve!” with a pout. I extrapolated correctly!!!
