so, after a couple of days we received 1044 entries for the female mesh body survey. I wanted to share the results with you.
Certainly I'm not surprised that Maitreya is still in the lead but I found the ones following very interesting.
The difference between the bodies people wear most and prefer most is slightly different.

The biggest difference there is in regards to the Alice body which is fairly new ( well at least the update of it). So this might change further in the future.

Huh, that's very interesting. If the Alice does well at some point, I wouldn't mind supporting it, as Signature has a very supportive attitude (at least for me) towards content creators and have the better script functionality from its competitors.

I've heard like plenty of people state they kind of agree maitreya is ugly but that it's not worth it to buy a new one since all the clothes are compatible and stuff.

I think that's why legacy actually stood a chance coming out so late because they have those deformers

I tried to switch to Legacy, but the seams in the neck isn't perfect like maitreya is with heads, and yeah, such low comparability

Smaller tits makes hair look better in ads tbh accidentally made them a bit too big in my latest release, and I think it's a bit distracting

I don't understand how the Maitreya body is "ugly". I've been wearing it for years, and I've never gotten the hate for it.

Ziekling: This might also sound weird, but part of Maitreya's long lasting success are the dev kit leaks and copybotted kits being passed around to very unlikely stores that are not able to get the body. IE. the furry and anime community, who are recently going ham with making mods and clothing.

Maitreya is here to stay, and pirated devkits made it more universal than all the available bodies in the market.

Ziekling: I think it's due to lacking any idea how copybotting and stealing works in SL. Anyone can copybot anything - it's a thing the AAA gaming industry can't stop, so putting on this strict front against creators bothering to sign up for the body is a misplaced attempt at stopping theft, and it does nothing.

The reason why you don't see a 'Schmaitreya' body is no copybotter wants to put forth the effort into creating an entire body system, with all the graphic design and looks. LMAO.

Which is why Maitreya's complete leak and open dev kit via simply google has contributed to its success and incredibly large reach over all markets, not just the event shopping scene.

tbh if maitreya was less strict they would not have people pirating their body and passing it around. if you look at the furry and anime side of things, their creations are just downloads, no big deal to get them. i can dl a furry mesh head in 2 minutes and have a fully functional dummy to rig on without even signing up for anything.

the utilizator bodies are just downloads on his site, open to anyone for creating on.

sabinana: i wear physique (original), with petite chest, whenever i can. BOM is great, i might actually be able to wear clothes again, because i certainly can't shop for anything mesh

I only see hourglass support from most of the shops I use

sabinana: there's a really small (and it occasionally gets smaller) list of shops that i shop from. i also demo and wear SOME maitreya things with physique- depends on how close they fit and how they rig the boobage

i didn't wear ANY mesh body for a lot longer than most because dem tits man, i couldn't handle it.

Yeah I want smoll tits, too - I mostly wear HG/petite or the classic Physique with breast sliders set to 40 now. And then I also prefer non-slutty most of the time, so I bought a lot of pants in the last year and wear the same tops very often

slink petite was so cute tbh, I had wished that was bigger than it ended up being lol

I did buy it for both bodies cos I had both and could never decide if I like HG more or the original
