It might be worth looking into getting a thin layer sleeve rigged to bodies to apply them onto on higher resolution/without working with the insane SL UVs. I've seen a lot of the asst. body part accents done that way like spank layers.

It's definitely not perfect esp with layer clothing but might be an option to satisfy things actually looking good

Dysfunctionality: I was discussing this on fb, but the cons of doing something like this for tattoos are too many considering the downtime it would bring to do them for mesh bodies, innacurate devkits so we get floating tattoos, making something reusable, alpha cuts vs. just making an omega applier and resign some quality...

The 2048px file looks good on PS, but when SL compresses it to a 1024px for the upload, that's where the quality leaves forever I wish we could get real 2048px images inworld, at least for BOM layers

it is not the UV , it is the resolution.
