first of all this was definitely a different experience from grimm shirasu LMF

so CANON SPOILERS HERE bc i gotta to talk about his whole deal in subdiv

his canonpoint is, basically, right after he's lost his twin and a bunch of his people in a losing effort to fuck up the country to their own benefit... and the orochi also got permadead which was what he was pinning this whole effort on, also he just jumped off a damn cliff into the water and i pulled him from in the water. (':

he was never 100% positive that he was alive at home bc he didn't remember dying but there was a chance he didn't surface

grimm shirasu was from a while past this and had time to deal with it. subdiv shirasu had zero time to deal with it.

he also didn't know for sure how many others survived, if any, HE'S BEEN IN A BAD PLACE BASICALLY THE ENTIRE GAME.

so this led to him being a little more trigger-happy in general, a little more willing to stab, a little more 'if i lose here then literally nothing matters anymore bc i have nothing to live for'

different canonpoint shirasu would not have tried to swap partners

anyway meeting hisoka first thing & pinning him as someone to work with and use super did not help things

he intended to avoid sol and deal mainly with lune, but lune was too curious about him and too mysterious about his own shit for shirasu to actually keep that up... he swapped to avoiding jiji more and talking a lot with roxas instead

and that sure turned out to be a thing, god

because he didn't think roxas was as good for information, so they talked more about other things and he learned more about roxas than he did about jiji and therefore got more comfortable with him... the hint of kumou energy helped

anyway he got comfortable enough that he was willing to accept it when roxas agreed to help him try to control the darkness & gave him a task to trust & be trusted by 4 people... which indirectly led to him getting caught for bird stabbing bc he was actively trying to fulfill that and be less of the paranoid shit he'd been

which, in turn.... kind of undid roxas' work, so.

he did it bc he thought his partner would eventually kill him annnd he ended up convinced he was gonna die! so! we came super close to him just trying to fuck everything up. break week where he didn't die helped.

but if julius hadn't killed him, he was going to help akane get cinnabar and would have kept it up bc he thought he's screwed anyway, may as well

annnd we also came close to him going full 'fuck it' and trying to bad end from the gy, except he found out p much immediately that they might be revived and he was like well... okay, if i can still get what i want, i'll behave for now

so he was still an asshole in general and did not help provide info on julius out of spite for the living basically leaving him defenseless... but he helped with tasks etc to try to get what he wanted.

essentially we were like. almost always THIS close to shirasu just trying to burn the whole thing and he got pulled back from the edge every time and roxas did so much work for that.

like honestly without him it would have been worse

hisoka both helped and didn't because he was kind of an outlet for the worst tendencies but also enabled them, so.

he definitely also lowkey adopted akane... that's his best girl and he is proud of her

cr with emma was also wild bc she was one of the people who he kind of went 'okay, we've talked a decent amount, i guess you're okay if i have to find people to trust' and it turned out pretty quickly that she worked against him so

that contributed to the 'lmao fuck all this then' after he got outed

in the end he had enough good influence (with the help of the bad end portals) that he didn't follow through with requesting to change things so he won that fight at home

but it's not really a good end situation because he still came out of it feeling like he was justified in thinking that trusting people is a bad idea after all there's a very limited list of exceptions.

he'd still fail that task right now because he only would trust 3 people and one is roxas

(he likes minato but he doesn't trust minato with important things)

anyway that's tl;dr on this asshole

if nothing changes his mind he's going to hisoka's world and learning nen so he can become Even Worse to deal with, and re-establishing the clan there bc it sounds like a wild enough place they'll be pretty useful

before anyone roasts me again he is not sticking with hisoka besides just going back with him & probably learning from him, he's got ninja shit to do
