I'm thinking I actually have to watch this.
Youtube has been giving me so many videos of CROWLEY AND AZIRAPHALE BEING X
And it absolutely seems like my kinda show.
And probably book as well.
like i adore the book and have for years
but the actors inhabit the characters in a way that is just transcendent
it's fun and irrevent and insightful
Gaiman wrote the script himself
so it's an awesome adaptation even though there wasn't time for every detail or anything
Gaiman was even in one of the trailers :>
also they gloriously cast male/female/androgynous actors for demons/angels traditionally shown as male
Neil is pretty good about representation and turning expectations on their heads
i even recall him being unapologetic about.... what was it, having Adam and Eve be black? something like that that got a bunch of people pissed off
he was like WELL IF IT TURNS OFF PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT'S GREAT

here it is
EVERYONE SHOULD READ THE BOOK
It's super great and really funny and the show is about as perfect an adaptation as you could hope to watch
Many people, meeting Aziraphale for the first time, formed three impressions: that he was English, that he was intelligent, and that he was gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide. Two of these were wrong.
(Those being that he is English and that he is gay, as heaven is not England and Az is not a man)
Or rather angels are sexless unless they really want to make an effort
The thing I linked earlier actually has commentary about the non-binary representation in the show along with Gaiman’s response to it.
lmao sorry i missed the link the first time around
It’s ok. A lot was happening right then. XD
i'm glad you linked that yes, it's my favorite thing at the moment
