Dolce has her team keep Julian super isolated from the outside world in a fit of protectiveness post-Hell night, she just wants her baby to heal without stress. Questions about his friends are met with "Don't worry about them, dear, just concentrate on getting better," which only makes him stress and worry more.
His SD friends aren't much more help, fielding questions and calls from his friends, trying to keep Julian from having to worry about 'feeding the vultures' while he's getting better
But eventually Clark or Cameron (or the nicer chick I don't know the girls names lol) eventually see the texts from two of his friends getting increasingly more frantic and passes Julian his phone, thinking the two seem genuine, despite the eye-rolling from some of their coworkers
And Julian sees the texts, how Logan's texts devolve into begging for Julian to let them know he's okay, start to gain worrying typos as time goes along. And Derek's are angry with worry, both, apparently, over Logan's growing worry and Julian himself.
That night Julian sneaks out of his room, takes a cab to the airport, and is on a flight to Ohio before anyone notices he's gone.
He leaves a note, of course, doesn't want to freak his mom out completely. She calls Logan as soon as she finds out, and Logan and Derek wait at the front of the school for hours until Julian arrives, pale and shaking, in the back of a cab.
Logan's furious. He's snarling at Julian even as he so very carefully lifts Julian into his arms, ignoring Julian's weak protests, and carries Julian up into his room, Derek hovering around the whole time.
Sets Julian carefully in his bed, still ranting at him for being reckless and stupid, and props him up with pillows, only stopping to tell Derek to get the pillows from his room as well.
Julian can't stop smiling, feeling relieved for the first time since waking up, now that he can see for himself that his friends are safe. And watching Logan putter around angrily, fussing over Julian while also furious at him makes his chest feel warm.
The idea that Julian isn't getting in touch bc he thinks that no one is getting in touch with him?? Pure angst and I love it
