Because there are characters specific to Boom Comics (such as the Ranger Slayer, Lord Drakkon, and the Solar Ranger), the Hyperforce tabletop (whose rangers were canonized in the comic), and then existing characters who become rangers (namely Dino Charge Heckyl >> Dark Ranger in comics)

Would you be able to app the Hyperforce Rangers or the Solar Ranger or Heckyl as the Dark Ranger?

The main rule is that if it's not live action, it's just the character showing up, not that the world got tacked on since there's no shared locations to overlap.
