I'd be interested in hearing opinions on this piece, both from men and from women (and if anyone reading this identifies as non-binary in whatever form, then that too!)

My husband has a lot of friends but I'm not sure how deep their conversations go. He keeps them for a long time, too! But I definitely saw my parents become each other's 'everything' after retirement.

That's cool that he does... if you ask him about his conversations, and it's OK with him to share, I'd love to hear more.

meanwhile, I saw the person that plurkers may know as ogalthorpe yesterday, and... that's kind of a semi-close friendship, still, when we do get together... though that's unfortunately relatively infrequent.

That said, it does feel... _different_ to me, in the form of its closeness. I'm not sure whether/how I could articulate that further.
