My family and I are eating out in a few minutes to celebrate my passing the exam. The more I think about this though, the more daunting this all feels.
Only 22% passed the board exam this year.
How sure am I that I could be part of that 22%?
I want to be a lawyer. I know I can do this. At the same time, I wonder if I can really make it.
I will have to dedicate 4 more years of my life and 1 year of apprenticeship.
But also, I can be saving lives and helping people keep their jobs.
One time, my student asked me why I was leaving my teaching position. I was one of his favorite tutors.
I told him, "I became a teacher to help people and I feel like I have done that. This next step is so that I can save people."
I guess I really still am that idealistic girl from ten years ago.
Don't think about it too much. If it says you passed, then you did. Don't let the number and doubt creep into that. Go out, enjoy your meal, then kick ass and take names when the school year starts
