My problems with Endgame begin and end with "What the HELL, Steve?"
Endgame was great until the post-funeral stuff.
Nebula having tons of good scenes with everyone. Her and Tony playing flick football. Her and Rhodey talking about shitty hands they've been dealt.
Everything was beautiful and perfect until the very end.
My problems begin and end with Old Steve.
Old Steve fucks the timelines so hard and either paint Steve as a monster or completely change everything.
Either he shut up about everything that was going to happen and let HYDRA go on its merry way to ruin everything,
Or he decides to change things and Voyager's most of the MCU.
Peggy wouldn't let HYDRA flourish in SHIELD, and if they organizes a rescue party soon enough, Bucky never ends up as the Winter Soldier.
Maybe the Starks still die, maybe they don't.
If Howard lives, does Tony become Iron Man?
If HYDRA doesn't have the power base from inside SHIELD, and Steve or Peggy can deny Zola admission to the US via Operation Paperclip, does HYDRA wither on the vine?
So, that's my thoughts. Endgame is beautiful and amazing until Old Steve. And then everything gets snarled harder than an earthquake at an earbuds factory.
And the worst part is that Bruce even calls Cap out on it! "Your past is their future, Steve."
On the one hand, it makes a great capstone for Evans as Captain America.
On the other hand... God damn, Steve, after all that work to unfuck everything Thanos did, you went and turbofucked it.
