Most of my shouting at the void has been UGH THE PRILLYA EVENT IS SO BAD because I like going through FGO’s story a lot usually and I chose not to start skipping now.
But I’m going to start on a positive note! Today, I got the spiky rock (Octuplet Crystal) drops and the shop currency for gears to finish my second skill project:
Fran started as a “oh, she looks cute, I guess that will be my consolation prize if I don’t get Mordred” on the London banner, but now that I RP her I just love her increasingly much.
I mean, I was happy to pull her, but it took me a while to do more than laugh a bit when I got her NP4. I’m happy about it now.
My first 10/10/10 was Liz, my starting Servant. ...oh right, second was Mash, who I’d forgotten since her mats were so much less of a struggle, but I waited until I finished Liz.
And now is Fran. ...Fourth will probably be Ruler Martha if only because, again, simpler mats.
Anyway, the usual support page stuff.
Event supports:
Farming supports:
Single-target supports:
The last one needs a lot of work, because summer was unfairly kind to me.
So I couldn’t hold enough EXP to level all of these.
I’m very happy with my gacha luck (only somewhat boosted by reckless spending).
The names haven’t been changed around, since I don’t want to taint them with this event, as they were previously my summer event pages + my Camelot page (which was basically my farming page but with Euryale and Orion).
...I mean. I guess they aren’t so much my single-target page as they are my tough boss fights page. I don’t have a single-target gold Saber or Caster, but Nero and Tamamo are Strong.
Anyway THIS EVENT IS TRASH with that out of my system it’s time to buy out the Mana Prism shop and go to bed barely on time instead of the early I planned.
I splurged on the Mana Prism EXP even though Nerofest lottery is just around the corner and thanks to a Super Success, I got to final ascend Ruler Martha. Heck yes!!
I enjoyed the stuff with Helena and Medb, but otherwise I feel you. Storywise, this just wasn't very good at all.
At least it was a fairly easy one, though, gameplay-wise.
There were some good moments! Helena and Medb being good examples.
It just wasn't worth the rest of it, even as a big Medb fan.
Ah well. I might end up more forgiving of FGO's usual flaws now that I've seen how bad it could get if we put the Prillya guy in charge.
I did kind of have fun with how we had raid mechanics (giant numbers) that I could do with nearly any combination of Servants. By the time of Helena and Medb, I was cycling through all my faves who weren't specifically bad into the fight.
I liked that too, actually!
I was a little worried about not having an arts-based Rider until I realized that so long as you had the shop CEs, you could use just about any Servant with an Arts/Buster NP and destroy the raid boss pretty effectively.
Like regardless of class advantage, etc
So that's been pretty nice
Yeah - as much as it lacks the satisfaction of facing a really strong opponent, I got to make, say, Liz a main carry, which, as strong as she can be, is not her usual role.
nah jk congrats on the fran... mine's still 4/4/4 because i have so many goddamn berserkers but she'll be strong soon
I wish there was a way for you to have Mordred even though, as you say, you hate her, but I’m not giving mine up.
Pulling for 5-stars is pain and I never want to do it again (oops I became endeared to Fran’s papa time to get ready to die again).
Anyway, thank you! I at one time thought I had a lot of Berserkers, but my pulls have evened out a bit since even if I still get a lot of Chaotic Evil/Chaotic Neutrals.
I’m sure you’ll make your Fran strong, too.
Just like how I should make my Hercules strong but I’m biased.
she's my permanent hand farmer along with lancelot
both of them are np2 so they clear everything w/o issues
Those hands have no chance.
I usually mix things up for hands, although I’ve been starting to get tempted by the power of having Fran and Helena work together so that I don’t even have to charge NPs.
Why is every bloody strengthening quest designed to screw over whoever’s strengthening quest it is?
Featuring: Mash babysitting Robin as Mordred beats on a Bicorn.
It’s a weird feeling to realize you’re legitimately about to run out of Crystalized Lores.
I used to think, “there’s no way I’ll have the mats and gems and QP to max skills faster than I’ll receive lores.”
But I’m down to 2 and I have at least that many skills I am close to maxing.
Me: How does this happen?
Also me: I’m feeling kind of low. I’ll level some skills to feel better.
I’m only saved by the fact that my gem pile from Christmas has run out. The New Year will be hell.
IT'S CANON THAT MEDB ISN'T INTERESTED IN FIONN I'M SO HAPPY.
Getting a fifth copy of the petals drop CE will be a happy day, but also a sad day because then I wont have space to put the attack up CE on Ibaraki to breeze through.
Doing everything I can to keep Ibaraki alive.
"Oh, I'll just knock out the challenge quest before bed!"
I forgot. I play this game on normal speed.
31 turns and nearly an hour later......
By 30 turns his last guts fell off with all my NPs charged. (The Command Seal went the way of keeping Tamamo alive after Herc focused her to death.)
Featuring the saddest thing I saw in those 20 turns:
I was having trouble getting to sleep (taking my antidepressants hours late may have contributed), so I went about enhancing things.
I finished my first EXP project earlier today:
But I was able to have good news/bad news: good news is I got the lore from the sixth box! Bad news it’s gone already because I also got the mats needed for Medea’s Rapid Words to get to level 10.
She’s my plan for the Assassin squad, so I want her to be ready. I also got her heal to level 6. I’d have looked into getting Circe’s Teachings to level 10, but...two lores only....
I really need to prioritize.....
And then I continued work on Squirtoria because I have unfairly good luck.
Take one of the Parade of Hassans, or the discovery that Rule Breaker doesn't remove a buff if she kills the enemy.
I probably could have finished it since I could swap in my friend's Amakusa, but I decided, no, I wasn't going to do that. I was going to take my destiny into my own hands.
"But if I don't have Medea with the damage CE on, I'll need a new attacker. But this frontline works so well together. ...In my cut-short attempt, I did notice that Tamamo does have class advantage...."
Take two of the Parade of Hassans: the legend of attack MI~KON!!
It took me literally an hour and the same number of terms as the meaning of life, but as you can see from the health bars, I came to a hard-fought victory after a dangerous struggle:
And alas, not thinking ahead, I'd used a golden apple recently, so time to clear out my AP while I die in bed.
I'm not sure I can make a team for hard content that doesn't have Mash, and I doubt most of them will be made without Tamamo.
I guess this is what happens when you choose to only use Waver when you have to but pull Tamamo and not have the same feelings about her.
Not that I dislike Waver at all, but I like some variety, you know?
da vinci made that a complete joke with her debuff invulnerability
i was so worried but nope
.......yeah that would certainly do it.
Ah, I could have finally used my recently finished Ruler Martha, come to think of it.
I was also pretty concerned, because one site said the first three die with mes were immune to removal. Didn’t think about debuff immunity.
Accomplishment 2 of my lotto grinding.
Meant to be in bed early, but I realized I still had AP left. Gonna grind out the three Octuplet Crystals needed to finish off Jekyll which may make my desire to have Scotland Yard finish each level of the competition less silly.
Participation bronze, bah! Scotland Yard is going to win the whole thing!!
So much for peace in Chaldea.....
I got Jekyll up to level 64 before I ran out of EXP and I did his interlude - which did make explicit the idea of people who weren’t supposed to be there being misplaced by the Singularity and that as Servants they remember the Singularity events, which is a relief since that’s what I guessed about Fran but wasn’t sure.
The Jekyll in the Singularity was noted to be returning to his proper time in the past after and the Servant Jekyll/Hyde said he largely remembered the Singularity.
Also included, though not really giving information, was:
So back to the event and doing every quest at least once with Scotland Yard.
Status of bringing Scotland Yard to the finals: hahaha, it’s easy, right, not dangerous at all....ahhh.
My luck of card distributions against Gil were almost unbelievably bad??
I had my crit star generators set up (Caster Liz and Hans’ Innocent Monsters with double MLB By His Side...my crit options are low on the ground), and during the turns of Innocent Monsters I got 2 Scáthach cards in 3 turns and when my Cursed Arm came in with the 20 crit stars when appears, I got zero Shishou cards.
I ended up using a Command Seal for an extra Noble Phantasm and she ended on one HP with just Cú left alive.
My true goal has been accomplished. Scotland Yard has defeated every participant in the tournament (aside from challenge quests).
Truly, they are the greatest.
I’m going to have to now concentrate on hard-clearing the shop and then deciding if I want more boxes.
I was going to finish levelling Rider Martha for the debuff clear, but I might instead just take Saber Shiki it the cost doesn’t become too high.
But anyway it’s less than eight hours to Skyping with my parents but food had to be consumed. Good night, all.
Time to fail the final challenge quest.
It’s going pretty well! Mira’s Amakusa is actually doing well at damage, and somehow the health recovery from Jack’s death?
This would have been a sad moment had Lalter not used her mana burst during her extra turn alive.
Current danger is that Amakusa’s AOE means Medea’s defence up upon death is probably going to come into play.
I can’t really complain, but...come on...
...Man, it occurs to me that if I had used a command seal on Ibaraki’s NP, I could have made it through this battle with zero casualties, but I only thought of it after the turn ended since I only realized at the end I was down to the last life:
That would have been so cool to manage.
I’m a little frustrated with myself for not remembering Command Seals in time to allow the no casualty finish, but hey, first try no Command Seals ain’t bad. Thanks, guide.
Thanks! I got pretty darn lucky.
Everything I highly value has been complete! I'm probably going to try for the remaining secret gems and I've thought about maybe the blue Rider gems, but I have all of the mats and mana prisms and the secret gems of Sabers that I'm low on, so that's relaxing.
Cassie’s going to kill me and I’ll deserve it.
“I’ll just spend three tickets. ...eh, one more can’t hurt.” I’m happy.
DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
That’s fair.
my 5 tickets got me a bunch of 3 star ces
I had thought about waiting to see whether you got her before I did my whim pulls for that reason, but I was a fool.
A happy fool, but a cruel fool.
i'd roll quartz for her if she was on solo rateup... i really like tesla too but i have priorities
Yeah, it’s an extremely low chance to get her, and not a big chance to get Fran, either, and yet I got one of the NP upgrades I was looking for.
I used to complain about my gacha luck a bit after I had a terrible time in Okeanos and whaled super hard, but 2018 has had god luck.
I took a moment away from Apocrypha to grind FGO and, when my Servant folder filled up, I finally decided to follow my heart rather than my head with my accumulated Rider EXP.
I do love Kintoki and Martha, who need to be finished off, but Mordred tho.
