it's way more interact heavy, which is why i have such a hard time with twitter
YEAH you interact a lot on twitter which is nice its refreshing but like. NO ONE DOES THAT
i just want friends lol. i have like 150+ mutuals and talk to like 5 of them
IT'S BC I COME FROM PLURK for the longest time i didn't realize people didn't interact so i just,
extremely friendly on twitter and finally someone mentioned that i might be scaring people bc i was too interact-y and now here i am, paranoid at all times,
DO YOU NOT USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO BE SOCIAL!!
I GUESS NOT ????? its weird to some ppl like. u just like tweets and exist in ur own void. i hate it
i'm literally on twitter to make friends and keep up with friends so it's wild to me... so i worry a lot about interacting but i just assume ppl will sb me if i'm too much, at this point
most people like that i'm friendly and i've made good friends from it, so i can't be fussed to worry
but i'm def more comfortable on plurk platforms
ur a good. i love u. i like plurk and i understand u more but. this would never catch on (,:
i've been on plurk for almost a decade............... i can't leave
twitter fandoms love that like. distant intimacy. like my tweets and rt my memes and nothing else
i try to make friends and ppl always seem weirded out like ok bye
yeah these days i mostly ask friends for friend recs ... in part bc it's so dangerous to meet other people in enstars specifically
enstars is a shit hole on twitter yeah
my only issue with plurk is i cant like. interact with content. but im viewing it from a twit standpoint so h
you can replurk from public timelines! but most people like, use twitter for fanart retweets and then keep discussions to plurk for like, stuff we'd usually thread
my twitter brain just doesnt like it
i think the reason it caught on w/ the journal rp crowd is bc it got us all before twitter was a fandom hub, and it does resemble the old blogging functions more than tumblr/twitter
but coming from the tumblr/twittersphere it's definitely sort of a backwards movement in terms of content
YEAH which is whats weird. i never was in the journal rp crowd
i think you missed it in terms of age... like just in evolution of internet rp, journal rp was basically a closed circuit by like... 2009 we stopped getting new blood, and people were using like, tumblr
and then it went to like, facebook and twitter and other platforms that i cannot even comprehend
so anyone who wasn't like, already in mid-teens by 2009 basically missed the journal rp trend
my first social media was instagram. i rped on there for a while and then used tumblr?
i never liked tumblr tho bc i couldnt use it on desktop
my first social media was..........
bravenet... chatrooms, neopets, aim/msn, and digimon messageboards
like none of the things i used are still around
youre literally a grandma. i had a neopets and i think i killed my neopet and had a breakdown so my mom blocked the site
JACK YOU CAN'T KILL THE NEOPETS? THEY DON'T DIE?
IDK IT GOT SICK???? I WAS TOO POOR TO FEED IT??? IDK MAN
OH WAIT MY FIRST LIKE MAJOR SOCIAL MEDIA WHERE I MADE FRIENDS WAS
FANFICTION ..... DOT NET ...............
ive never touched that site
(clenches fist)... for years... for years it was all we had...
i just read fucked up hentai and thought the cops were coming for me
please understand that i had dial-up until i was 16
i had to have my internet boyfriend painstakingly download manga on his highspeed internet and burn it to cds and mail those cds to alaska.
it was still faster than me downloading them.
what the fuck what the fuck
thats the scariest shit ive ever heard
if twitter doesnt reload in 2 seconds i ask lukas if the site is down
my internet would automatically disconnect every four hours and it took an hour to load one minute on youtube
i think this is the real reason there wasn't as much drama when i was in fandom
we'd have to have spent an hour loading something before we could reply
really put a damper on all that righteous anger
(there WAS drama in the 2000s, mind you, but)
drama in fandoms is so easy now lmaooo
