[Training, Sam] I have tried, for several years with little success, to reward Sam during grooming for "good" behavior.

Now I'm saying fuck behavior, I'm just rewarding like hell for any and all parts of the grooming process I have to do.

Sam, for the record,
tolerates
grooming, but likes absolutely none of it. Which often leads to me only being able to work in small bits at a time.

Because I
do
have a rule that I don't push once he starts giving me too many stress behaviors, and that I give him a release word when we're done so he knows he doesn't have to anticipate more yucky grooming for a while.
