We'd like to share an informative blog post by one of our developers, Beq Janus, about LOD and some changes to its settings that will be in our next version of Firestorm:
For LOD's sake stop!

As for the release itself, we don't usually have official release dates for our releases, but this one's currently in QA.

the default 2.0 setting going to remain as is? I have been testing all of my products at that setting for awhile after being told to in the past, and I noticed that this number wasn't mentioned in the article. I've been doing my best to make proper-ish LODs whenever possible this past year, but I hope my baseline wasn't skewed.

One spelling correction: The menu in the image on the top of the post needs to say "Advanced" rather than "Advenced".

Dysfunctionality: the default settings won't be changing with this release. Not everyone has the same default settings, though. Default graphics are based on your GPU, and some people's default render quality is below mid, which will give them a default LOD of 1.5. Only those whose default is from mid-high to high-ultra will default to 2.0.

slutrix: Thanks, but that's an image of a notecard distributed by an anonymous vendor inworld; it's not part of the post's text.

Corvi: Happy to share, and please feel free to pass Beq's post along to others. We'll be posting an abridged version to the Firestorm blog later on, as well.
