woke up early, got a bag ready in case i needed to crash at work tonight

got up to my car, cleaned it off and warmed it up

got started slow and drove around the back way to get out onto the main road

but even going slow i managed to lose control and smash into the wall directly in front of my own house

smashed my driver's side headlight and buckled the hood a bit, but i managed to get turned around and drive back to park. didnt hear the car making any funny noises or anything, so hopefully the damage isn't beyond what i can see

but wtf. left the house a little before 6:30 and was back inside calling out of work by 6:40

probably sounded like a wreck on the phone, but i did have a break down on my mom pretty much immediately after

thinking a little more clearly now. a little sore by my arm pit where the seat belt dug in, though

ill have to go back up at some point and take a picture in case they try to write me up at work for calling out on a snow day

because they absolutely do write people up for that shit if there isn't a legit excuse. the hazards of working in a 24 hour care facility

... the fact that that's what im worrying about after a scare like that is kind of infuriating

and now im suddenly exhausted but my brain is still jittery

yeah, the last accident i got into was back in college. not serious, but much worse than today, and i had an impression of that seatbelt for weeks

Given that you've only got liability and it's an older model and all

we've got a good mechanic and its still drivable, so once the weather clears a little we'll get it checked out, but ill be driving my youngest brother's car for a while

because the car is technically my parents and he's been unemployed for over a year
