Hello everyone, how are we? It's been a bit longer than usual, but that's probably for the good, since this book is a doozy. It's time for a full book discussion on Visser!
It's a really interesting thing to see the very beginning of the invasion and how exactly this one Yeerk's life and experiences influenced it so greatly. Undoubtedly many, many Yeerks would have preferred the full-blown invasion, but for Visser One, it was lucky that her wishes flowed with what was the smarter path
We get a lot of references to topics that are usually meant for an "older" audience than the main book series, even with all the gore and trauma and PTSD, including multiple references to drugs and even a character called Jenny Lines
We also see first hand just how smart Visser One is, and there's a glimpse of possibility that will never be realized. If she wasn't a villain, and she joined up with the team, how much stronger would they all be together? It's almost mindboggling
But the true MVP of this book has to be Eva, who was fully willing to be reinfested when she was almost free, just so things didn't erupt even worse than they already had. After so long without any control, going back is the strongest thing she could have done
