Poor Marco's under a lot of stress in this one - most books only have the kids having to worry about their family finding out, but now Marco has to deal with a large upheaval in his life as well as maintaining the fight against the Yeerks
Any child of a parent that gets back into the dating pool and winds up remarrying can vouch that it's a game changer for the kid as well as the parent, and in Marco's case he's planning to free his mom and let them be a happy family again like they used to
It's no wonder he starts going bizarro-morph with all of that on him! It's more a wonder that none of the kids have had it happen before this, honestly
