Kallie's a dear friend of mine and the way IGN HR handled her constant sexual harassment from a coworker was absolutely disgusting
I just read about this and holy shit
yeah I knew about it from Connor but didn't know any details until I found her post
but DANG that's infuriating?
the more I hear about the environment at some game reporting companies the more I'm super glad I never more seriously pursued a job at any of them
For sure ;; I'm so glad she has a way better work environment at GameSpot
but ugh she was trying to help me get a job at IGN while this was all going on too ): It's so sweet of her but tbh if I would have known I would not have applied until something was done
I'm glad the recent upsurge in actual consequences for sexual assault and harassment is going down, though; one of 2017's unexpected silver linings
I mean maybe she can still help with jobs?
for sure, but I also feel bad about asking for industry ins ): It's like, networking's important but I don't want to strain the friendship
she had already offered, why would that change just because she switched companies
I'm not saying pressure her about it but I just mean that since you're not in a field that you feel passionate about I'm sure she'd be willing to help you if you needed a reference
Yeah, I gotcha! There's a tasteful way to do it
I just think now wouldn't be the best time
oh obviously not I just meant at some point
dang kotaku just ran a whole article about the situation?
Like, I'm glad to see people put the screws on IGN for this, but it just feels weird to see your friend's sexual harassment go viral like this. I just hope she's doing okay and doubly-hoping the shittier folks on the internet aren't going after her as a result
