so my drive to the airport last night was long and slow and full of cars. Then I got my friend from the baggage area, and on the way to the restaurant we were on a totally deserted road! No cars or lights. Eerie. And just a block from the congested freeway.

this was the Ontario airport, BTW, not LAX. If you didn’t know, there is an Ontario in Calif as well as Canada.
I flew in and out of the California Ontario one time. Usually John Wayne, rarely LAX.

We have an Ontario in Oregon, too. Although I suspect it is much smaller than the other two.
