We've hit a huge milestone in the series with this book - one of their main enemies knows who they are, or at least one of them! Marco couldn't help himself from calling out to his mother, and now Visser One's suspicions that the "Andalite Bandits" were really humans has proof
The free Hork-Bajir are once again safe, thank goodness! But it came at a cost, and even though they were paranoid before (as Marco says, it's not really paranoia if you really have enemies out to get you), now they have to be extra careful
The team's always had the barest possible version of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" with Visser One, since both groups see Visser Three as a much bigger threat, but there's no love lost between them with that factor removed
Only time will tell how this plays out, but I think we can all understand how conflicted Marco is feeling over all of this and how hurt he is by fighting his mother, even though he knows he's truly fighting the Yeerk in her head
What do you think about how he handled the situation, this entire mission, and all the inner conflict he's going through?
We'll be back tomorrow with a full series discussion!
i am such a fan of how visser one acts as a foil to visser three
just how little direct interaction with the animorphs it takes before she 100% has their number
compared to visser three who's been fighting them for like? more than a year?? and still has no damn clue
I feel like the Animorphs would've lost already if Visser One had stayed in charge of the war on Earth
it took like three interactions for her to realize that marco was one of the "andalite bandits"
they'd be doomed if she was still in charge
My question is why isn't Visser Three already Visser One since she is gone?
'Cause her PR team is really good
