What happen

We get a lot of tourists cause we’re a Starbucks on the Vegas strip in a shopping mall of a casino

So we have a lot of language barriers, either people who don’t speak English well or have thick accents

We usually have to confirm orders with people a few times to make sure we’re all on the same page

So this German couple was ordering and I heard my coworker say “I’m sorry, can you repeat that a little louder. I can’t hear you well”

He had a thick accent and he was mumbling

So then he starts yelling

Like not angrily but like a little louder to him was yell

And Courtney was like like nah son

So she was already annoyed cauSe now he was shouting

And she was trying to confirm his order and he kept repeating it like she didn’t get it

Cause he was asking about shots and she was trying to tell him how many shots drinks get to see if he wanted more or less

Then he tried to pay with a Starbucks card that didn’t have the full amount so she told him “you’ll still owe $9”

And he got all annoyed with her

So she said there was only this much on your card so you owe a remainder

So he was trying to reload his Starbucks card in his app and complaining that the internet was too slow

By now there’s a line of people and we had no back up pos and I was the only bar person

I asked if she wanted me to jump on the other pos to help and she was like no it’s fine

CauE I was still making drinks from previous orders

So finally he pays and walks away

And I make his two drinks

It was two venti lattes

Simple drinks and I’ve made hundreds by now so I’m like aight

I make them, call them out, hand them over, go back to other drinks

About 5 minutes later he comes back and he goes “you know what. This isn’t good. It doesn’t taste very good. Can you make me a new one?”

So I said yeah no problem, give me a second

Cause I was finishing a drink

I step aside to go back to the bar and he comes over and leans over the plexi and is like

“I just want you to make me a cafe latte, just a regular cafe latte. That’s all I want”

So I’m like ?? Cause I don’t know if he’s asking for the same drink or something different

And the problem was he had a thick accent and sometimes people call things something else becauSe of a language thing

So I say do you want the same type of latte or a different type

He says I want a cafe latte

I figured that if he said his drink didn’t taste good that maybe the machine I used wasn’t pulling shots properly so i switched to the other machine

And I start pouring milk to steam and he’s like “listen. I want you to just make me a regular cafe latte. That’s all I want. Just a regular cafe latte. A cafe latte just like you’ve been making for years”

By now I’m just staring at him like

Just stop talking

I’m already remaking your drink

I know how to make a latte

You don’t need to lean over here and explain to me over and over that you want a latte

I get it

It’s one thing to say “hey this doesn’t taste right. Could you possible make me another??”

he had it coming, he only had himself to blame

Like yes. Sure. I will do that

I was about two seconds from throwing hot milk at him

Cause he was already acting like a dick to Courtney

Now he was turning on me

And I was like boy
