[RP] I'm fairly new to DWRP, how do Museboxes work? I've always done separate journals for characters. Are they communities, or Journals? How does one set one up?
Can be either as far as the kind of account. For example, I have "alltheworld" which was created as a community (so that more than one person could have access to make changes, as an admin). OTOH, my "sis" has "socrowdedinhere" which she uses mostly as a musebox for us to play in (though she'll also the account to rp in others' museboxes when she doesn't
have an account for a given character). I think for most people, though, a musebox is set up as a community as far as type of account. That way more than one person can start posts. As for what they're for, they can be whatever you want. Usually they're for one-off ideas, psls, or if characters want to explore things they "can't" in a gwme for whatever reaso
I know some use them for overflow for things like TFLN too.
Ah. OK. I do have a community that Erin and I have been using for our PSL, and other random stuff. So that's basically what that is. I'd never heard the term until I moved to DW from LJ.
I'd never thought to have a journal for multiple characters in one. I've just always created new accounts for each character and played any one off stuff in their journal itself.
One example of that which comes to mind is if one player's dropped a character from a game before getting to play out something with another. I dropped a character from a game once before a friend and I were able to play out something between our characters in-game that we'd planned. It would have been an important milestone in their CR as well as
an important point of development for her character's personality. We couldn't play it in the game bc I'd dropped, so we played out the encounter in her musebox, so she'd at least have that development for her character to continue on with.
/rambles for six years, finally refreshes phone to see the rest of the comments XD
Ah.. that's basically what Erin and I did with Grissom and Giselle by just him bringing her to Vegas too. But we played those out in the journal itself. Actually, no, we played it in our not-Oz RP comm. LOL So it's basically something we've been doing all along, but never knew it had an actual term. LOL
LOL All comments helpful though!
/nodnod Pretty much. LOL it's like when I discovered "fanfiction" and "crossovers" years ago...and realized I wasn't the only sad freak who wrote stories based on existing characters, something I'd been doing for YEARS before that. XD
"Sad freak" refering only to me, really. Because I thought I must be. 9,9

My cousin and I spent one summer writing a massive Star Trek TOS/Star Wars crossover epic. In our opinion, anyway
I know these embarrassing feels and I deeply sympathize
TOS and SW crossover actually sounds cool.
Dude.. we've been OGs to RP this whole time and never knew it!
