I mean, my photos aren't great. They are as basic as basic gets so I know why I don't get a lot of faves. But, I see some people that take photos that make me and still get nearly 200 faves.

Fave for fave and excessive groups

I do good photos but I don't fave for fave and I don't put them in 500 groups. I rarely get more than 200 faves.

there are also others who follows and spam faves a lot of flickrs. then unfollow them after a few days/weeks

I don't get tons of faves tho, so, obviously they aren't that great.

nami_naeko one specific photographer/blogger made me post this and the person never does nudity. i legit don't get it BUT i did see they drop their photos in like 200 groups.

I tend to drop mine in about 190 groups, but honestly, it doesn't help a ton. With no groups my photos tend to get about 30-40 likes. With groups, maybe 60 or more. So it's not like it's only the groups.

honestly the same is true for any fave thing or contests etc, people learn to game the system

and then they don't feel like they need to improve because they can get the accolades with what they're doing

even if i put mine in like 90 groups I won't end up with more than 20 or 30 faves

no groups I get maybe 10

maybe the amount of friends you have plays a role too. i know a lot of my flickr friends aren't even around anymore

I have 4000 organic followers and I still don't usually get more than 200

that's crazy

but it's like 3 years of people, who knows how many of them are gone now

basically everything that's been said already and they follow tons of people. usually when i see ppl like that they follow over 10k

and most people just follow back when someone follows

I think people who have had their flickr account for a long time have a lot of inactive followers. I wish there was a way to like, mass delete anyone who hasn't logged into flickr in say, 4 years.

there is a greasemonkey script for firefox that let you see if someone isn't following you

I am not sure if that is how you used to be able to see when they last posted or not. I rarely go through my follower list and Flickr changes stuff all the time lol

Honestly I follow everyone and anyone and I never trim my Flickr list ever cause... I kind of use Flickr as a way to connect to anyone and everyone in sl 😂 from the weird to the good haha... and I have a couple of groups I always post to

as far as i remember you can sort for inactive people but everything beyond that needs the script. i don't have it either tho :/
