Hypothetical: If LTFRB were as strict with errant bus, taxi, and jeepney drivers and operators/companies, would you be as angry at them with the way they're penalizing Uber?

No. Heck, if LTFRB were consistently strict, it's possible that Uber wouldn't have much of a user base.

so frustrating this situation. There's no Uber here in Davao and I resisted using it for a long time kasi medyo scary nga naman that they're not registered with the govt pero convenient talaga sila.
We only need uber because our means of transportation is very unsatisfactory. If LTFRB thought of an app that could even connect us to taxis so they could regulate it better cz everything is documented then I think we won't need UBER

If I were LTFRB, I would partner with uber/grab... iron out the details, and require/invest that all taxis be a part of this so they can police everyone better. goes without saying this needs money to implement but, just a though XD

a local taxi fleet here attempted to do an app similar to grab but with no booking fee. Medyo wonky lang yung app pero good attempt.

Kung makakagawa ng app ang LTFRB for starters that would immediately penalize paksyet taxis, kakalma na ako. Pag nagreklamo ka re taxis, uubusin pera, oras at pasensya mo tapos wala pang kasiguraduhan

No. And maybe also on how LTFRB is handling this situation because they obviously have no idea how ridesharing app works and I find their approach very arrogant.
Ang problem ko sa mga taxi, medyo mababaw lang naman: (1) MADAMING IPIS SA LOOB NG TAXI. (2) They refuse me too often (unless sumakay ako sa mismong taxi lane and/or mag +100-200 sa bill. Kahit sa Makati area lang, I still get refused.
(3) I've had tons of experiences with cabs drivers that fell asleep while driving!! Lalo na pag very early in morning yung shift ko. (4) Tapos when it's not peak hours, nililigaw ka nung taxi (kung saan-saan siya dumadaan) para tumaas yung bill mo. :-|
