in the latest in the completely exhausted "girl destroys world" anime trope but is somehow original because it's a live action movie this time, the monster destroying an asian city is just an accessory to a normal romcom

the central plot actually revolves around the manic pixie dream girl deals with a oh-so-familiar manipulative "nice guy", and offers no peaceful solution. actually, it's not very romantic or comedic at all, it's creepy

and with less-BS in action

it's at its core a girl liberating herself from the negative influences in her life lor, with highly exaggerated stakes. people looking for destruction and sci-fi are gonna be disappointed
