why plurk hasn't realised it's niche in the market will develop out of twitter for those who prefer quieter, more civilised connections :-(

we haven't been able to successfully attract & keep people here. The user base just isn't as large as that of Twitter.

Nope. I love twitter. But I like the aggregating nature of conversation in plurk. Less demanding. And no celebrity. :-)

we keep losing people out of our Plurk network. )-: They've gone back to Twitter. One said Twitter was easier to dip into.

there was less of a feeling that you had to read everything whereas Plurk accumulates stuff.

also, she found thAt there was no way to ignore random people that responded because they knew your friends.

so you would be reading avthreaf from your friend & it would have responses from people outside your personal network interest.

that's a good way to meet new people serendipitously but there was no way to ignore them in your friend's Plurk thread.
