Today I'm shooting through New Mexico, and hopefully Arizona too. Gonna stop in Albuquerque to meet a friend for a meal.

Things seen on this leg:

Oklahoma. There's pretty much nothing to see

Texas had a little more varied terrain at least

I couldn't help but notice that the sign is on the far side of some rocks.

It's a travel center/ rest stop. It happens to be built into a mound, which I suspect os the real reason for the 'no climbing' sign

but yes the weird pyramid thing is a needlessly large plinth built as a part of the center that serves no purpose but to be big

and have a star in it. because TEXAS.

its pretty true. my hotel last night had a pile of texans show up in a trio of busses. several had cowboy hats. a few were rediculously big.

like comedically clownishly large cowboys hats, being worn unironically.

but did any of them own the Dimmsdale Dimmadome?
