My solution for now. Change gloves. I like the new ones better anyway. hmph!

I thought it was dependent on the type of alpha textures designers use. I was wearing some older long gloves with alpha and dress with a sheer lace overlay and it was acting all kinds of weird. I changed to the relatively new lace gloves from Dead Dollz and no problem.
