Bad advice from a non-native, but as a linguistic nerd, I say, practice, practice, and listen.

Back when I was learning French proper, my pronunciation was the best in the class, simply because my dad majored in French and listens to international news in French.

After I was exposed to rather too much British telly (I blame Sherlock), I found myself subconsciously pronouncing some words the British way even though I'm taught American English in school.

but really when people ask me about my English pronunciation and ask me how I did it I say: Harry Potter

My french teacher told us to make the "r"s sound like there was a hairball stuck in the back of your throat. And also making everything sound slightly haughtier than usual.
