The parent company of our department sold us off to two of the managers, and they decided not to hire 90% of the staff.

Holy shit.

I get 4 weeks of severance pay, so there's that. Got a check for this pay period + what I would get for my vacation days.

But it's really not the best time for this, finance-wise

So future things. My spouse has a job offer in California come Feb. If I don't find a new job here in Cinci by then I'm going off to join her and we'll try to sublet my current apartment.

However, we're both looking at programmer jobs in Cinci, because we'd like it best if we could both stay here. The apartment is great and we like the area a lot, and it's close(r) to our friends.
