There are English recipes that have beer in them. Pies that are made with beer, for example. Ireland isn't the only nation that cooks with beer. Beamish in north east England brews stout too.

This is true. But just about every recipe I have come across has beer in it. To be fair, these are not actually irish reipes; they are what commercial websites have decided to call Irish.

There's probably something like that near me, in Liverpool...the "unofficial capital of Ireland". There are lots of ppl of Irish descent there.
