So, first up, we have caramel crunch donettes. ...I think they have coconut on them?
Just sweet at first--OH WAIT, there's the caramel!
It's not strong, but it's tasty,
Yeah, that's coconut, pretty sure
Yum.
o: that sounds kinda good...
They are kinda messy. The coconut stuff comes off pretty easily.
Next up, Caramel Apple Cupcakes
They are, per the package, "frosted caramel apple cake with creamy filling." The picture shows the cream being a caramel color, but IDK yet if it will have caramel flavor.
I can smell them through the wrapper. They smell... like fall...
Also, a cute red swirl on top.
...holy SHIT, I unwrapped it and it was as if caramel smell just punched me in the face. And it was awesome.
It's actually almost more butterscotch smell than caramel? Like, it smells like butterscotch hard candies.
Whoa, that is sweet. But mostly apple flavor actually biting into it
There seems to be a little caramel flavor to the filling.
Nicely moist, but not sticky-dense.
Damn, this is why we need more apple-flavored fall stuff instead of pumpkin spice everything.
Makes me thirsty, though, yeesh
AND SPEAKING OF PUMPKIN SPICE, that brings me to the last item on the list: pumpkin spice Twinkies.
Now, in fairness, I'm not super into pumpkin spice stuff. But, last year, Hostess had pumpkin spice donettes, and they were pretty good, so let's see how the Twinkie measures up.
According to the package, they are "golden sponge cake with pumpkin spice creamy filling." So... just the filling is pumpkin spice, and the rest is normal. Allegedly.
...I can smell the pumpkin spice through the cellophane. But scent means little with Hostess.
Oh my god, the pumpkin spice smell is strong,
Oh, thank goodness, the actual flavor is pretty mild.
Not bad. Not really my thing, but not bad, very nutmeggy
Also, very thirst-inducing.
I think the donettes are my favorites.
The pumpkin spice donettes were pretty awesome.
No pumpkin spice donettes this year. The Twinkies got it this time.
Well, you already know what the donettes taste like!
