Oh man, I watched the first ep of the Jonbennet Ramsay special.
I honestly think this documentary is covering it very well since it goes chronologically well.
The first ep is about the suspicions on the parents and it seems that the second was about Lou's independent investigation that uncovered the intruder theory.
Honestly, it seems like the Jonbennet case occurred in the worst time for the parents since it was the era of making press drama when it came to important homicide cases.
Since this happened during the OJ Simpson time, it became a media frenzy and the police investigation was handled badly
I mean, yeah, Patsy Ramsay was suspicious as hell. I don't think her husband had anything to do but she per se was very suspicious because of her actions during the investigation.
In fact, I don't rule out the possibility of her getting rid of her kid with the help of a third party but I don't think John was involved.
Still, I cannot wait for tomorrow's episode since it addresses the police's mistakes because of the media pressure.
I do really think it was a total fiasco that an old retired FBI agent had to come out of retirement just to address the mistakes the Boulder police did during the first weeks of investigation.
Still, this case is really the most complicated case I've seen by far compared to the Zodiac Killer, the Black Dahlia and such.
Because this case has so much evidence pointing everywhere, during that time the evidence processing techniques were lacking and the media frenzy didn't help at all; things are really confusing.
It is almost as bad as the Madeline McCann case. Which honestly, in that one, since I do live in Europe and nearby Portugal... I do know the hotel systems in Portugal and I'm not surprised at how
shitty the hotel service was and how bad things were handled by the hotel staff and the police in Portugal. In fact, Spain and Portugal have very shitty investigators.
So I am not surprised there was no surveillance videos in the premises, that there was no nannies included in the service and that the girl was never found by the Portugal police.
Oh man, I am such a junkie about this stuff, please forgive me guys.
holy shit did it air already??? i thought it was on the 20th for some reason
ships: It's already on youtube because it preaired in cable channels, do you want a link??
i've been waiting for this day
yeah i opened it to watch and ehh i love dateline but it wasn't the quality i expected
it read more like WE HAVE TO GET IN ON THE FAD than investigative journalism
ships: This one gets into the investigative point of view. It does start chronologically so this episode was about the first clues and the first incriminations to the parents. Tomorrow's one is about the
fucking up of the investigation and how the police missed the clues of the intruder theory and introduces the suspects that aren't the parents.
Oh man, I'm so glad I can find someone to discuss these things.
yeah i'm Stoked, i'm so glad i don't have to wait longer than necessary for the first ep
I'm so glad too, because I have a con this weekend and supposedly it was going to air in the US during the weekend. Thank God this channels always uploads things from cable tv right when they air.
yeah i'm glad for you too then, i would have been so mad
but i also hate tv premier push week since i can think of like 3 other things i wanted to watch that day
As in forensic science or other stuff?
other stuff; forensic science is few and far between on public access tv
ships: I try to steal stuff from Investigation Discovery, because the bad thing is that I live in Spain and between they are always doing reruns and I'm still huff with my bad Spanish understanding...
