First attempt ever at cooking sunny side up eggs was a bit of a fail. :-P

Of course, breaking the yolks when cracking the eggs doesn't help. (LOL)

Maybe I'll stick with scrambled for now.

I've found the key to successfully cooking sunny side up eggs is a dome of some sort. Even a plate inverted over your frying pan if you don't have a lid that fits will work. The secret is in steam-cooking the

I have been known to use an inverted pyrex pie plate so I can see the cooking progress. :-D

but scrambled works too ;-)

Also , try breaking the eggs gently with a fork so as not to break the yolks and use the freshest eggs.

I find tha with older eggs the yolk seems a bit runnier

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I tried again last weekend and succeeded! :-)

With my first attempt, I tried the steaming technique, but the idea I had read was to add an ice cube and then cover with a lid.

The ice cube didn't really steam and made the eggs so runny I threw them out. (LOL)

Second attempt: I didn't break the yolks. I allowed the pan more time to heat up. I tried cooking one egg at a time to get used to the "feel" of it. And I didn't use a lid.
