Hard to believe it's been 15 years. It's still hard for me to discuss what happened to me the following day. Angels do exist and I interacted with one.

On September 12, 2001, I was walking with a friend to a store in Center City Philadelphia. We were both still in shock from what had happened and discussing things when a man approached us.

He asked us if we had any money. He explained that he had been enroute to NYC via train at 30th Street Station when someone robbed him of his wallet.

He was a friggin mess. His clothing looked dirty and he was breaking down in front of us crying and falling to his knees.

Through his tears and I'm sure complete embarrassment and mourning, he confessed that his twin sister was in NYC and he couldn't get in touch with her. He was certain she was dead.

My friend did not hesitate to give him all she had which was $40. With a great mental battle, I handed him my only $20 bill. He offered us his diamond solitaire stud earring in return.

Literally took it out of his ear, through tears, and managed to get his train ticket home. And I'll never forget him. I think about him every year and pray he wasn't pulling our legs with a sick joke

I like to think he was being 100% truthful. What man would break down in front of two women and show his raw emotion, in public, in broad daylight, and literally give you anything of value right off

I had never been so emotionally distraught. I came back to class and cried and cried and my teacher must have thought I was crazy.
